Coastal Waters Forecast Area: Perth Local Waters Forecast
For people who sail in the Swan river and want better winds, South of Perth there is a great spot called Safety Bay.
Some people go there and never leave. The wind is good over summer, there is grass to rig up on next to the Safety Bay Yacht Club. You can sail on winds from any direction, but it is mostly known for strong steady seabreezes. It is a safe place to sail on the ocean.
Freestyle/Big air kiting is done in the pond.
Around Penguin Island and Shoalwater there is great bump and jump sailing and heaps of space for kiting and wing foiling. There are some waves out by an island off the coast. If you are sailing south of the river then this is a great spot ,you will need a grass/weed fin at some times during the year, this is the only bad thing about Safety Bay. The people are friendly.
